Court Accessories & Infrastructure in Southwest Florida
A well-built court deserves equally well-built infrastructure. Sloppy fencing, generic lighting, and missing accessories cheapen the entire installation and shorten the court's useful life. Ritzman Courts provides complete court infrastructure across Southwest Florida, including engineered drainage, premium lighting, custom shade structures, paver walkways, professional fencing, and windscreens, all installed to last in our climate.
What Surrounds the Court Matters as Much as the Court Itself
Light Poles & Fixtures
Fencing & Windscreens
The right fencing keeps balls in, dogs out, and adds privacy. Proper height, mesh size, and gate placement all affect playability. Windscreens reduce wind interference and improve focus.
Shade Structures
Florida sun is no joke. Custom shade structures over seating, transition areas, or partial court coverage extend playable hours and protect both players and the court surface from UV exposure.
Drainage & Pavers
Custom drainage systems protect the court from Florida rainfall. Masonry paver walkways and surrounds turn the court area into a finished amenity rather than an island of asphalt or clay.
The Difference an In-House Team Makes
Court infrastructure is where most projects suffer when handled by multiple unrelated contractors. The court builder builds the court, an outside fencing crew installs the fence, an electrician handles lighting, and a landscape contractor pours the pavers. Each crew works to its own standards, with no coordination on grading, conduit, or how the pieces interact. The result is a finished space that feels like it was assembled rather than built.
We handle the entire scope in-house. That means conduit gets buried before paving, drainage is coordinated across the whole site, fence post footings are positioned for proper structural support, and pavers transition cleanly into the court surface. It is a tighter, better-coordinated build with one team responsible for the entire result.
Florida conditions punish weak infrastructure. Salt air corrodes inferior light fixtures. UV destroys cheap shade fabric and windscreens. Standing water rots wooden fence posts and undermines paver bases. We specify materials and installation methods that hold up here, including marine-grade hardware, UV-stable fabrics, and drainage details that prevent the slow failures that eventually wreck lesser installations.

IntegratedSystems
Light Poles, Fixtures, and Court Lighting Systems
Court lighting is a system, not just a few fixtures on poles. We design lighting layouts for even coverage of the playing surface, minimal glare for players, and minimal light spill onto neighboring property. We install full systems including poles, foundations, conduit, fixtures, and controls. For coastal Southwest Florida properties, we specify marine-grade hardware and corrosion-resistant components to handle the salt air. Lighting can be installed during initial court construction or added to an existing court.
Fencing and Windscreens
Court fencing has to do several things at once. Keep balls contained, define the court area, provide security, and look right against the rest of the property. Standard chain-link works for many installations, but we also work with vinyl-coated fencing, decorative options, and various heights depending on the sport and the site. Windscreens attach to the fence and reduce wind interference during play, which matters especially for tennis and pickleball on exposed sites. We supply, install, repair, and replace fencing and windscreens as needed.
Shade Structures
A shade structure transforms a Florida court from a sun-baked slab into a usable amenity for more hours of the day. We install custom shade structures over seating and transition areas, and in some cases over portions of the court itself. Structure type depends on the property, the desired coverage, and aesthetic preferences. We handle complete installation including foundations, framing, and fabric, plus recovers when existing fabrics reach end of life.
Custom Drainage Systems
Drainage is one of the most important and most invisible parts of any court installation. We design custom drainage systems for each project based on site grading, soil conditions, water table, and rainfall patterns. This includes surface grading, perimeter drains, sub-surface drainage layers, and discharge points that move water off the court and away from surrounding structures. Custom drainage construction, installation, and repair are core services on every build.
Masonry Pavers and Walkways
Pavers turn a court into a finished outdoor space. We install paver walkways, surrounds, viewing areas, and access pathways using materials and patterns that fit the property. Paver work has to coordinate carefully with court drainage and grading, which is one reason we prefer to handle both. We install, repair, and remove pavers as part of full court projects or as standalone work.
Windscreens, Net Posts, and Court Accessories
Smaller accessories matter. Properly tensioned windscreens, regulation net posts, fence padding, gate hardware, and other court details all influence how the finished court looks, plays, and holds up over time. We supply and install the full range of court accessories as part of complete builds or as upgrades to existing courts.
Discuss Lighting, Fencing, Shade & More
Whether you are building a new court or upgrading an existing one, the supporting infrastructure deserves the same care as the court itself. A short consultation gives us a chance to scope the right combination of lighting, fencing, shade, drainage, and pavers for your project.
Common questions about complete court setups
Yes. We design and install court lighting on existing tennis, pickleball, basketball, and bocce courts. The process involves planning pole locations to avoid disrupting play, trenching for conduit, pouring foundations, and installing the fixtures and controls. We work to minimize court downtime during the install.
Quality LED fixtures with marine-grade hardware typically run 10 to 15 years or more in our climate. Lesser fixtures fail much faster due to salt air corrosion and UV exposure. We specify equipment that holds up here.
Yes, in most cases. UV eventually breaks down even the best fabrics. We recover existing shade structures with new fabric, which is far less expensive than a full replacement. We can also assess whether the underlying frame is still sound.
Yes. We install paver walkways and surrounds around existing courts, with attention to drainage coordination and proper base preparation. The result transforms the look and usability of the court area.
Yes. We supply, install, and remove windscreens on existing fencing as standalone work, in addition to including them on new court installations.
